Soul Ecology - Building Capacities
for Sustainable Living
The Soul Ecology project offers participants the opportunity
to live, work, learn and play together for a three-week
period. The program incorporates elements of theater,
ecological building and journaling to further creativity
and self-development. The Soul Ecology project includes
the Soul Ecology Service Practicum, Youth Leaders Action
Camp, Soul Ecology Wisconsin, and the High School Projects
Week.
Soul Ecology Service Practicum
A Vocational Training Connecting your Heart to your
Work
SESP is a five month internship program for youth coming
out of high school or college that includes a residential
practicum, a four month internship and an integration.
Youth Leadership Action Camp
A ten day summer intensive empowering future youth leaders
to:
- Envision the world they want to create.
- Act from the heart.
- Take action now to create the world they want to live
in.
Soul Ecology
Wisconsin
A Soul Ecology program for young people and adults with
disabilities, held in Wisconsin.
High School Projects
Week
High School students participated in an intensive arts
and service experience at the Oakland Noodle Factory
(community space for performing and fine arts activities),
working in urban gardens with Peoples Grocery
and developing a performance project inspired by urban
reality.
Other Programs
Art Jams
Community-based events that focus on expressing individual
creativity within community -- creating a safe, supportive
and fun environment for people from all walks of life
to come together to explore and express their creativity
through a variety of art forms such as painting, music,
dance, theater and sculpture.
Dance Classes
Creative dance classes for children ages 2.5 to 5 are
held at Ashkenaz in Berkeley. Classes incorporate story,
music, games, and elements of dance.
Workshops in Improvisational Dance, Theater,
Contact Improvisation, Laban/Bartinieff movement and
other movement forms are available on request.
